For starters, let's just say that everything is "spread" the word in virtually must - be fun - by definition. Sprinkle cake is no exception to this rule, and it is especially fun when you bake it with the children. This is exactly what I did with my 3-year-old son and we both had a ball.
The ingredients are fairly simple. Get a box of cake mix, either yellow or white. We used Betty Crocker, but you can Pillsbury or any other brand of your choice. You need water,Eggs and vegetable oil as called for on cake mix box, plus a bottle of store-bought sprinkles. You can be sure all chocolate or all scatter a single color, but my son and I both thought that would really make the colorful sprinkles for the most fun. Oh yes - another important ingredient is your kids! So make sure to be washed and aprons are in the hands.
"Stand Mixer"
After doing the instructions on the box cake mix everything until you find the recipe calls forPour the cake mix in a pan. This will usually mean cracking the eggs into a bowl. As long as you have more eggs than the actual cake recipe (which is usually 2), go ahead and let your child have a "crack" to break it in the bowl. My little guy was, even at 2 ½ able, gentle enough not to touch, make a mess or get shell in the bowl so that your children are probably in order. Only the eggs first do so if you do end up with shell in the bowl, youRemove it before any other ingredients in there.
The next steps on the cake mix box are usually add to the mix, egg, water and oil on the same bowl and mix. Feel free to do so with your stand mixer if you have one. A hand mixer or a spoon is good, but definitely the stand mixer makes quick work of the process. If your child has a small stool to stand, you can turn on the mixer, but only with your supervision. If you use a hand mixer, atiny hand can help you move it just under the bowl, and my son, the vibration tickled. That sparked some chuckles and will likely do the same for you.
Now is the time for you to open, sprayed the bottle. I would not recommend to let your child do the opening so a sprinkle-filled kitchen and none have your cake. Once you open to it, but do not drop your child pour, or put the crumbs into the bowl with the cake mix. Have him helpThey give him a couple of good with a wooden spoon stirring the mixture sprayed into the dough. If you use one of the mixer, you are the sprinkles break into a thousand pieces.
Go ahead and pour the finished batter into your baking pan or cupcake molds and bake as directed. If this is done, you have a delicious cake, decorated and you've had a lot of fun baking with kiddies!
A final note: This type of cake is great for kids' parties and such as there is no glaze is tooSpread over their faces, your living room, etc.
