Tips for the Kitchen Aid 5 Speed Classic Plus Hand Mixer

I adore my Kitchen Aid hand mixer! It's one of my all time favorite gifts.

The KitchenAid 5 Speed Classic Plus Hand Mixer has been such a great kitchen tool for me. My hand mixer was a gift to me from my Grandma Christmas. I would have never imagined how useful my mixer would have been, and how much I would use regularly.

"Stand Mixer"

Take a look in my kitchen. I want to make a small batch of chocolate cookies. Use the mixer. I would like to make someWhipped cream, go with the apple pie. Use the mixer. I need all my ingredients for the omelette mix in no time! Use hand mixer.

My Kitchen Aid hand mixer has two arms racket that you insert into the base of the mixer. I like the way the club snap easily into place with a gentle nudge and then a click, you can know that they are safely locked. When you finish your mix housework, but with the push of a button, the mixer arms are easily removedCleaning. This KitchenAid hand mixer can be found in most retail stores for about $ 50. KitchenAid offers many other types of mixers, but the classic hand mixer is the common kitchen at getting jobs done.

Although there may be other mixers which are more high-tech, high speed and high prices, those five speed hand mixer really hold his own. The way I picture it, if you see something that needs a 12-speed blender to mix, then it would probably be wise toInvest in a stand mixer.

Hand mixers are ideal for small jobs, but also larger mixing jobs are usually mixer better managed by a stand. If you are a stand mixer, but try using grip recipes do not require large amount of mixing tasks on a regular, I recommend that a KitchenAid stand mixer in check

So if you are on the hunt for a new blender and if your hand mixer seems cutting corners and you are just tired, Then go ahead and look into the KitchenAid 5 Speed Classic Plus Hand Mixer. It deals with a lightweight, power supply mix gently through the dough, and the open curved design of the bat makes cleanup a breeze.

I love my KitchenAid 5 Speed Class Plus hand mixer and my guess is that if you try one you love fall.

Happy baking!

    Chrome Drink Mixer

Hamilton Beach 730C Classic DrinkMaster Drink Mixer, Chrome Specifications

Drop a dime into the jukebox, press F2 for Fats Domino's "Blueberry Hill," and dreamily drift back to the '50s, when bobbysoxers and guys with ducktails or wearing white bucks (never, ever both) idled away after-school hours at the local drugstore's soda fountain sipping chocolate malts that had been churned to a smooth, frothy consistency by a mixer exactly like this one. Hamilton Beach's drink mixers began appearing at soda fountains in 1911; this 14-1/2-inch-high, 70-watt model, in creamy green, recalls Elvis's first decade. But it's 21st-century, too, blending fruit smoothies and health drinks as well as milk shakes and malted milks. Also use it to mix puddings and beat eggs for omelets. Two speeds offer mixing flexibility, and the tilting head makes it easy to remove the spindle for cleaning. Its professional-style, stainless-steel cup holds 28 ounces and is dishwasher-safe. --Fred Brack

  • KitchenAid KN2B6PEH Stainless Steel Mixing Bowl for 6-qt. 6-qt. Reviews By Customers
  • This bowl is AWESOME! It hold liquids and solids without any problems. It's just like the other bowl that came with the mixer! Really... who reviews a freaking bowl. It's a bowl. It has a hole at the top to put stuff in, and a solid bottom to keep things from falling out. If it were square, it'd be a box. I don't even know which bowl is the one that came with the mixer and which is the bowl that I'm reviewing now. Buy the bowl, m'kay? You'll be happy when you're making lots of batter and icing and you don't have to keep rinsing the one bowl. Bowls for everyone. Bowl, bowl, bowl... that word is weird now... bowl.

This bowl rusts! - Becky L. - Iowa
I recently purchased a KitchenAid 6 quart Pro mixer and this bowl came as a standard attachment. Although stainless steel, the bowl has a very shiny, almost chromed finish--unlike the bowl with my previous, smaller model KA mixer. The VERY FIRST TIME I put this bowl in the dishwasher (it specifically says "dishwasher safe" in the instruction manual) I was astonished to pull it out the next day to discover RUST all around the outside edge of the rolled upper lip/rim! The shiny finish appeared to have eroded just sitting overnight in the dishwasher, leaving multiple, ugly little rusty spots.

Well! I called customer service at KitchenAid (my mixer being only three weeks old, it was under warranty) and they had no explanation for how "stainless steel" could rust overnight, but they sent me a replacement. The bowl arrived quickly, I used it once, and then--taking no chances--it was washed by hand, and then up-ended on a dry kitchen towel, on the table, to finish drying overnight.

This morning, I picked up brand new bowl #2, and found even MORE RUSTY SPOTS than on the previous bowl! Virtually 1/4 of the shiny plating on the lip of this bowl has corroded away, leaving rust stains on the towel I wiped it with, and ugly black spots (after I rubbed away the rust) on the lip of the bowl.

I will be contacting KA again, but clearly there's some manufacturing flaw occurring in the plant in India where these bowls are manufactured.

My 600 series KA mixer came with a coupon for a free bowl, free shipping. It is identical to the ergo-handle bowl that came with the mixer. Sure saves time when involved in marathon baking. Using this mixer, its two bowls plus another smaller KA mixer, we turned out two wedding cakes (~200 servings) over two days. A real time saver.

  • Perfect for kitchens of all sizes, the classic series stand mixer delivers the power and durability to mix large batches. 8 cup flour power. Powerful 250-watt motor. Versatile 10 speed control. Durable, direct drive transmission. Multipurpose attachment hub w

  • Product Features
    • 250-watt, 10-speed mixer with tilt-up head
    • 4-1/2-quart bowl holds dough for 2 loaves of bread
    • Three handy accessories: flat beater, wire whip, and dough hook
    • Includes a guide with instructions, mixing tips, and 67 recipes
    • Measures 13-8/9 by 8-2/3 by 14 inches; 1-year warranty

  • Product Specifications
  • KitchenAid's stand mixer is a substantial piece of equipment: 250 watts of mixing power make child's play of creaming butter, kneading dough, and whipping cream. The kid in you will appreciate how quick and easy it is to mix up a batch of cookie dough; the 4-1/2-quart bowl can hold up to 8 cups of flour, which translates into as many as 192 sweet treats.

This model comes with three attachments: a flat beater for making batter, meat loaf, and all textures in-between; a wire whip for egg whites, mayonnaise, and more air-infused creations; and a hook for mixing and kneading yeast doughs. All three are solid in construction and easily secured to the beater shaft with a simple twist; untwisting them is a bit trickier because the attachment stems are short and can be hard to grasp, especially if they get the least bit greasy. The bowl itself locks tight to the base.

Standing 14 inches high, jutting out a foot, and weighing more than a grown woman's bowling ball, this stand mixer isn't the sort of appliance you'll wipe down and put away. Better to find a square foot of free counter space for easy access; besides, this machine is as pretty as it is rugged--you'll want to show it off.

To complete the package, KitchenAid includes a spiral-bound guide with instructions, mixing tips, and 67 recipes, from crispy waffles to a caramel walnut banana torte. --Betsy Danheim

  • KitchenAid K45SS Classic 250-Watt 4-1/2-Quart Stand Mixer, White Reviews By Customers
  • I am disabled, and before purchasing this product, baking was almost impossible for me. Due to weakness in my hands, I really did not have the strength to be whisking and mixing ingredients together.

This was a bit of a hefty expenditure for me and my husband. Being newly married, money is a little tight. But we felt that it was an investment-something that will last us through the years. Already, it has proven itself to be a worthwhile purchase, and the house is regularly full of the pleasant smells of tasty treats and wholesome meals.

The mixer itself is very large, and might be worth other potential buyers being forewarned that it is also extremely heavy. I cannot lift or move this mixer myself, I have to ask my husband to do so. But this is not really a problem for me. The head lifts and lowers very smoothly, and the bowl attaches to the base so easily that it barely requires any effort. I do have problems managing to get the whist attachment in place (and removing it when needed) but this is probably a result of my weak grip. My husband manages it just fine when I ask him to do it for me.

This mixer has turned the hardest tasks into a simple matter of throwing the ingredients in the bowl and turning on the power. There are ten speed levels to choose from, (I barely find I need to go above the seventh or eighth speed setting) and I like that the mixer doesn't just spin the whisk, it also rotates. My mum used to have a mixer (different brand), and that one was not as good as this one because you were constantly having to stop the mixer and scrape down the sides of the bowl, because it would only whisk the mixture in the middle. Not so with this product! Everything is mixed without any effort from me whatsoever.

I do wish that the bowl came with a lip for pouring though. It's a bit difficult to get the mixture from the bowl into the baking pan. Aside from that though, great product! Clean up is very easy. The whisk (or whatever attachment you're using) simply goes in the dishwasher (as does the bowl) and comes out looking as good as new.

It's a large appliance, and mine takes up a fair amount of space on the kitchen counter. It's too heavy for me to store it out of the way (Plus I use it so often there's no point) but I think it looks nice (even without a cover over it).

All in all, this is definitely value for money and a great product.

Disappointed - maiden voyager - Colorado
I'm disppointed. As others have said, it's lousy for breadmaking: the mixer jumps around when you mix bread and afterwards the bowl is next to impossible to remove. It's okay for cakes, I guess. I haven't tried cookies, but I suspect I may have similar problems with any stiff dough. A previous reviewer said KitchenAid said this model wasn't intended to use more than 4 minutes and wasn't intended for bread. At nearly 0? I'm thinking of selling it -- Anyone want to buy a used KitchenAid Classic?

  • KitchenAid Classic Plus Stand Mixer, White Reviews By Customers
  • I bought this mixer because Cook's Illustrated recommended it. I can see, after 3 months, that CI was spot-on. It is a substantial-sized kitchen tool, and I've used it at least once a week since getting it. Primarily I bought this for bread mixing, and it clomps along even on the firmest dough (though it does "hop" a bit on firm doughs). The powerful engine can handle anything I throw at it. It also does a fabulous job on whipped cream -- far better-textured than a hand-mixer could make. I've used it to make cakes and cream-cheese dips, frostings and herb butters, and there just doesn't seem to be much this mixer can't do to perfection. It's not a food processor, so don't expect it to chop and dice or to cut butter into biscuit dough, but it fulfills its function perfectly. It's heavy-duty and substantial, and so easy to hand-wash I haven't bothered putting its components through the dishwasher. 100% recommend.

    Fantastic - Kimberly W. Manning -
This was a fantastic purchase! I saved alot of money off of the original price and the seller shipped the item quickly.

  • Raving over it Still! - Susan R. Swatsworth -
The Kitchen Aid Classic Plus Stand Mixer has been a delight to use. I used it the 1st week I got it unlike many pieces of electronics sitting around in my kitchen. My Mixer sits out ready for action despite the small amount of counter space that I have. It works wonderfully, and I look forward to making cookies with it soon.

I did miss the handle on the side after using an old industrial Kitchen Aid mixer that was donated to the local homeless shelter I volunteered at. It had the handle on it so I noted that, but the bottom of the bowl fits perfectly into my grip so it works as a handle as well. By the way they really stand up to the test of time by the old one. :-)
    Sincerely,
    Susan S.

  • More of a pain than it should be for over 0 - Karin Jones -
I've had this model for several years and had I not received it as a gift, I would have returned it right away. On the plus side, it does mix heavy doughs well.....although the entire machine will rock back and forth while doing so. You would think that as heavy as the top of the machine is, they would weight the bottom to keep it from being so top-heavy. It already weighs as much as my microwave... what's a couple more pounds?
Another big issue I have is that it doesn't have a swing away bowl so that you can pour ingredients into the bowl easily while mixing. Unless you pony up another for the plastic spatter cover (which you *will* need) you will not only be covered in flour but you'll turn yourself upside down trying to get the flour into the bowl without it ending up all over the counter.

After years of really trying to like the KitchenAid, I'm tired of working around it's shortcomings. I'll be getting grandma's mixer out of storage and putting the KitchenAid on eBay.
