  • I research everything I purchase as much as I can and this mixer was no exception. I checked out comparable mixers (Sunbeam and Kitchen Aid in particular) I did side-by-side comparisons on these three mixers and decided on this mixer because the reviews by experts and users were very good. I wanted something that could handle bread dough. One of the features that I liked on this stand-up mixer is that the motor cannot get overheated. If it is getting too warm the machine will stop itself until it cools off. I like the timer feature also. The ease of removing and inserting the different paddles and the fact I can use the dish washer to clean the bowl and paddles is a huge plus to me. The splash guard that attaches above the paddle fixture allows you to add ingredients as needed without anything getting on the counter or the side of the machine. A point of interest. I also had the misconception that a Cuisinart mixer would be more expensive than a Kitchen Aid....not so, in fact my purchase was a few dollars less. I felt at time of purchase and still feel that I got the maximum bang for my buck.

Great Mixer - David - Mississippi & Wisconsin
I love this mixer. It's a workhorse that's quiet and doesn't jump around. This thing will run circles around a Kitchenaid. I use mine mostly for breadmaking and couldn't be happier!

  • Terrific! - C. Randak -
This mixer has exactly what I wanted; quality and power. It isn't too heavy to lift and is surprisingly quiet. I have always had good luck with Cuisinart products. So far so great!

  • Very Happy casual bakers - Mandy L - Central Mass
My husband and I bake about once a month. So, don't expect an in depth review of the mixer's finer points. Just wanted to add my 5 star vote to the pool.

We are very happy with the mixer. We have had it about a year. It is easy to lift out of the cabinet and onto the counter. Easy to clean. Timer is really helpful. And overall the design makes the mixer very easy to use.

  • Sunbeam 2351 Legacy Edition 450-Watt Stand Mixer, Black Reviews By Customers
  • I replaced my Kitchen Aid with this Sunbeam. I had always had a Sunbeam but my two daughters told me the Kitchen Aid was better. I HATED it. With the Sunbeam I could scrape the sides of the bowl as it was spinning. With the KA I could not. I could add liquids and/or dry ingredients with the Sunbeam. With the KA I had to pour it down a slot that was difficult to install. With the Sunbeam I can lift up the beaters to let them drain. With the KA I had to remove the plastic slot before I could lift the beaters. This Sunbeam brings back all the things I liked about my old one and is much better than the Kitchen Aid. The only difference between this one and my old one is that I have to push a button - sometimes hard to do - to lift the beaters; I have to push a button to release the beaters - also hard to do at times - and the old one allowed me to remove the beater head from the stand and take to another location. But...these inconveniences still make the Sunbeam my first choice.

Tilt Release Button Stopped Working after 1 Use - Hi Spie -
Bought this on Amazon from a seller who said he received it for a wedding gift, never used. I used it once and it worked fine. After the second use, I was unable to lift the mixer head when pressing in the tilt release button. Repair shop said these mixers are made in China and China does not supply any parts. So, for lack of a .20 part, it is unusable. Had this mixer still been under warranty, he could have replaced it. Although the mixer was "new, seller had received it in September of 07, so it was out of warranty. Reluctantly, I will have to return this Sunbeam Mixer. Would have been a great mixer, if the tilt release button hadn't malfunctioned (broken).

  • broke the first time I used it - Lisa J. Bernstein -
I have owned a Sunbeam mixmaster for several years and have been a huge promoter of the product. Unfortunately, it recently broke and I don't know how to get it fixed so I purchased a new one. The very first time I used the new one, smoke started coming out of it and now this one is broken too. So, instead of one broken mixmaster, I now have 2.
