Great Mixer - David - Mississippi & Wisconsin
I love this mixer. It's a workhorse that's quiet and doesn't jump around. This thing will run circles around a Kitchenaid. I use mine mostly for breadmaking and couldn't be happier!
Terrific! - C. Randak -
This mixer has exactly what I wanted; quality and power. It isn't too heavy to lift and is surprisingly quiet. I have always had good luck with Cuisinart products. So far so great!
Very Happy casual bakers - Mandy L - Central Mass
My husband and I bake about once a month. So, don't expect an in depth review of the mixer's finer points. Just wanted to add my 5 star vote to the pool.
We are very happy with the mixer. We have had it about a year. It is easy to lift out of the cabinet and onto the counter. Easy to clean. Timer is really helpful. And overall the design makes the mixer very easy to use.

Pros: this is a light portable mixer, love the two bowls and the hooks match the holes, square or circle, easy! easy to clean and run.
makes incredible cookies, buy a copy of GRAND CENTRAL BAKING and never go wrong!!!! and heavy cookie sheets. I have chicago mettalic sheets and are wonderful.
TO MAKE BREAD, UNDERSTAND BREAD. Bread is not fast!!! you can do proper slow mix,or fast" over night rest bread".
I have had wonderful results with the following Italian loaf.
2 cups water, 1 tablespoon yeast, one table spoon sugar, 2 table spoons olive oil,add one cup of flour , mix for at least two to three mintues With Cookie Dough hooks... add slowly 1/2 cup flour,,,, makes a thick pancake batter. Just let it run for 5 minutes.
Change off to the bread hooks,,, slowly add flour until you reach three cups....to five cups slowly,,,,, over 10 mintues.
develops the dough.
let the machine and dough rest as needed, scrape bowl as needed,( every mintue) the dough will wrap around one hook, its ok, stop an let the dough rest down.
toss out on a flour surface and do a few strech and folds,
rest in plastic, oiled bag over night,in fridge, bake as rolls or pizza in 425 oven. works like a dream.
I use the big chicago mettalic french baking pans, lined with parchement paper for perfect baking results.
Made bannana oatmeal muffins while making bread, I love have two bowls!!!!! this was a lifetime buy for a frugal baker.
This mixer has taken a lot of mixing pain out of artisian loaves, and the prenix stage. DO NOT BE IN A RUSH, ADD FLOUR SLOWLY. Also do presoaks.
To really understand bread read the the first 100 pages of the Bread Bakers Apprentice , or the hard to find No Knead to Knead book,
Bake on for years in joy with this fine mixer...... it really works, like a saw, know thy tools....
Update in June 2010 , Am baking a lot of bread, up to 5 cups flour bread in this mixer, I am using Reinharts new Artisian Baking book and this mixer is doing great with 5 cups rustic bread, really a best buy at plus shipping. bought yeast in 2 lb package today , love amazon.
Worst mixer I've ever used, but it looks nice - B. Burr - New York
The mixer looks nice and blends in well with the rest of my stainless steel kitchen decor, but does not do a good job of mixing. The beaters do not reach all the way to the bottom of the bowls, missing some dry ingredients down there each time. When making a buttercream frosting (tested many times), large chunks of (room temperature) butter remain. It's a cheap substitute for my 1950's vintage Sunbeam. I will not be purchasing West Bend appliances in the future.
Works Great - L. Cooper - Aurora, IL United States
This is a good product for the cost. I was worried that it would be a cheap stand in stand mixer until I was able to afford one of the 0 ones. However, I was surprised at how sturdy, efficient and even quiet it was. It does exactly what it's suppose to do.
What a Disappointment! - Patient knitter -
Because I accidentally broke a glass bowl for my wonderful, but discontinued Black and Decker stand mixer for which no bowls are available, I needed to purchase a new mixer. After much research, I chose the West Bend stand mixer from Amazon. The mixer arrived in a timely manner, but was defective. When I attempted to eject the beaters without having used the mixer, one fell out without touching it, while the other was lodged in the mixer head and was difficult to remove. The beaters had been inserted properly, not only according to the instruction manual, but also by matching the templates on the mixer. The beaters are much lighter in weight than one would expect to find in a stand mixer. In addition to the problem with the beaters, the mixer appears to be very cheaply made. There are only three pads on the bottom of the unit to stabilize it on a counter. As a result, the mixer rocks on the counter. There should have been at least four pads to prevent this. I promptly returned the mixer and purchased a Kitchen Aid Artisan stand mixer with which I am thrilled. Don't get your hopes up or waste your time on this West Bend mixer.

Good while it worked - J. J. van Vuuren - Morristown, TN
Had an old Sunbeam mixer on which the turntable wore out. It lasted about 10 years, so I thought to go with Sunbeam again. The new one worked for almost a month before the gears stripped out on its turntable. Don't know if its covered under warranty or not, but that is not an acceptable life on the turntable. The only work it did was to make butter from 1 quart of cream 5 or 6 days a week.
disappointed - S. Swan -
I have been very, very disappointed with this mixer. I have had the sunbeam mixers previously and they were always great, but this one is so hard to use, and doesn't mix anything on the bottom of the bowl. It doesn't seem to mix anything unless the bowl is half full. I can't believe it cost so much money and doesn't do the minimum mixing. If I could, I would send it back and ask for my money back and go buy one at a store, not this kind. Thinking it would be a wonderful mixer, I threw away the box before ever using this mixer. What a mistake. Either this is a flawed mixer, or this brand is worthless. I usually use my .00 handmixer instead of this one, it is such a pain. I definitely do not recommend this mixer. I am truly sorry I bought it. A very UNHAPPY customer of this mixer.
Spatterqueen - adelia -
This mixer should be called the Sunbeam Spatterqueen. The lovely turquoise Mixmaster I was given in 1965 lasted until 2007, when the motor at last gave up. I still have its wonderful heavy glass bowls, which I use for hand mixing. The stainless steel ones on the new mixer seem flimsy in comparison, and when I try to whip cream, it spatters all over me and my kitchen! After the first try, which left cream all over me, the stove, the counter and canisters, the cupboards, and the floor, I've covered my clothing and hair and "tented" the mixer with a big old floursack towel as well as possible, but it still leaves a lot of mopping up to do. The mixer is all right for solid things like cookie dough, though it's a nuisance to have to push a button to lift the arm and beaters, but it is a far cry from its ancestor and a miserable hooligan at mixing liquids.

SUNBEAM 2379 MIXMASTER STAND MIXER 300-WATT 12 SPEED - Ellen M. Johnson - BAILEY, NC USA
I PURCHASED THIS MIXER FOR THE PURPOSE OF USING FOR HEAVY DUTY MIXING JOBS. I MAKE CANDY AS A BUSINESS, AND THIS MIXER DOES NOT STAND UP TO THE TEST. I CAN NOT
EVEN MAKE DIVINITY WITH IT, WHICH IS ONE OF MY BEST SELLERS. THIS CANDY REQUIRES CONSTANT MIXING AT HIGH SPEED FOR APPROXIMATELY 14-16 MINUTES AND THIS MIXER CANNOT HANDLE THE STRESS. IT MAKES LOUD STRAINING NOISES WHEN I TRY TO USE IT. I WISH I HADN'T BOUGHT IT. I NEED SOMETHING MUCH MORE POWERFULL.
Sunbeam Mixer - Mrs. Bertalou Kelley -
When we received this mixer and discovered that it only comes with one mixing bowl, I was quite disappointed. I have this mixer so I bought one for my daughter, this one only comes with one size bowl, you must purchase the smaller bowl separately, it is used quite often in mixing mixtures and quite necessary. I have used sunbeam Mixers for years and love the fact that it is light enough to move from counter to cabinet or pantry to put it away.

Cuisinart SM-70BC 7-Quart 12-Speed Stand Mixer, Brushed Chrome

For starters you can see my video recipes using this product on youtube, just search for divinechef
The negative posts about KitchenAid were consistent about the motor burning out. I think this is mostly the fault of the user.
This unit boasts 7 quart capacity, but doesn't power through large capacity recipes. I wouldn't use a recipe that calls for over 8 cups of flour.
At this large capacity the motor pulls through but you can hear the strain. Don't think about making over 2 loafs of bread at a time.
This is probably true for KitchenAid.
I wished this mixer was more solid and heavier like I heard from KitchenAid users. It wobbles during high capacity.
One problem with using mixers is the narrow gap to add ingredients
Here's a tip. For dry ingredients like flour place onto a paper plate and then add it to the mixer.
Use shallow bowls for things like eggs.
The splash guard is pretty much useless.
The New Metro Design Beater Blade for Cuisinart is a must. Worth the something bucks.
The cookbook that comes with the mixer repeatedly says to stop and scrape the mixer and blade. What a PITA! With this blade you rarely have to scrape the bowl and blade.
I cannot compare this to KitchenAid just reiterating what I've heard.
Overall this mixer works great. 4 stars.
Great stand mixer - KCgal -
I love the look, feel and power in this mixer. I previously owned a KitchenAid mixer. It was over 35 years old and I dreaded giving it up - but we updated our kitchen to stainless steel and the ivory colored KitchenAid just didn't fit. I planned on buying a new stainless KitchenAid but found out that the newer versions had plastic parts that easily failed. I have only used this Cuisinart to make a large batch of cookies but it did a great job! I can't wait to try making some bread.
Mixer worked for 7 months only - Aleyandra -
I bought a mixer in Nov. 2009 and 2 months ago the motor stopped working and smoke came out. I hate the fact that just because I live ou side of the US, I can not make use of a 2 year warranty. I left my mixer at an authorized shop and I am still waiting for them to get parts for the motor, It's been 2 MONTHS WOW!
Great Buy - jon -
Truly awesome mixer, the order was smooth and the product shipped quickly. I was very happy.

Hamilton Beach 63220 Eclectrics All-Metal 12-Speed Stand Mixer, Sterling
The Hamilton Beach 63220 Mixer will not let you down. It is a breeze to operate. It is quite heavy duty, being about the same size as most of the smaller model KitchenAid models. Plan accordingly for storage.
This model has remained essentially unchanged for a few years now. My unit was manufactured in Canada. I feel more confident about quality than I ever would from the current KitchenAid models.
Satisfied thus far..but.. - Lady zenomi - Trinidad and Tobago
I purchased this machine cause at the time I could not afford a Kitchen Aid. This machine is ideal for mixing frosting made with vegetable shortening as this can become stiff and put strain on your regular mixer motor (I can testify I lost two hand mixers). The other attachments has proven to be useful as well, I used the dough hook to make fondant and was satisfied with the results. I appreciate the fact the mixer is quiet and I mean quiet it does not disturb anyone while I work, clean up is easy as well. The thing that dissapointed me with this product is that it does not have any further attachments,eg. pasta machine etc. But overall I would recommend this product.
GRAMS LOVES THIS ONE - GRAMS2OWEN - FLORIDA
OH MY GOSH...TALK ABOUT A GREAT MIXER. I BAKE ON A REGULAR BASIS FOR MY HUSBAND AND MY GRANDSON... BOY THIS MIXER DOES IT ALL. LOVE THE POWER. THE ATTACHEMENTS ARE GREAT AND MAKE FOR EASY CLEAN UP. FROM COOKIES TO BROWNIES TO PIES TO CAKES & ICINGS THIS ONE DOES IT ALL AND MORE ECONOMICAL THAN THE KITCHENAID.
Mixer head wobbles - S. Domer - Baldwin, KS
I bake bread every week. The mixer head wobbles back and forth while kneading the dough. Also, the flange on the dough hook is not wide enough to prevent dough from climbing over it and upward to the mixer body.
I bought this mixer because arthritis makes it difficult for me to move heavy objects. Otherwise I would have bought a Kitchen Aid.
