  • KitchenAid's Professional 500 Stand Mixer is a substantial piece of equipment. The High Performance 325 watt motor delivers enough power to handle the heaviest mixtures, and mix large batches easily. It's body features durable, die-cast metal construction, and offers a direct-drive transmission with all metal gears. The sturdy lifting mechanism uses a metal arm and steel lever to effortlessly raise an ingredient filled 5 quart bowl. Ten speeds allow for everything from whipping egg whites to slow churning bread dough and the Soft-Start feature keeps power in check to prevent splashing and flour clouds. A unique mixing action spins the beater clockwise while the shift spins counter clockwise; this results in an even blend. As a safety measure, the motor stops in the event of an obstruction or overloading. The Professional 500 Stand Mixer includes a 5 Quart Stainless Steel bowl, Burnished flat beater, burnished dough hook, and wire whip to achieve all of your culinary tasks.

  • Got a great buy on this larger size stand mixer from Amazon. I was not sure if I need this large a size, but for the money it was definitely worth it! I am not a professional baker, but I do make wedding and birthday cakes for family and sometimes I need to make a lot of frosting so I figured why not. You can make so many things with this, and it feels almost like your cheating when your doing your baking! It basically does all the work. The machine is very quiet when your operating it, and it looks nice and sleek and performs wonderfully. The only drawback to this machine is that it is so large you have to move it back and forth on the counter top because it does not fit well underneath when you actually are using it- and to move it, it is very heavy- if you have problems with your hands or arms, this would not be the machine for you. Besides that fact, I would recommend this product highly.

    stand mixer - A. Dietzel -
Love this mixer. I have had this same mixer in green for years. My daughter borrowed it for months so I bought this one for her.

jumping, loss pin, and shaking solution - SV - Colorado
I have not purchased my KitchenAid yet but children love the theirs so I am giving a rating for them, knowing they have not and will not do so. I did find on kitchen aids website a number of videos that explain how to eliminate the jumping and shaking people have described in various reviews of KitchenAid models. Making these adjustments will increase your mixers performance. Since the mixers handle such a variety of materials and densities it's necessary to be able to make these adjustments. they also have a video regarding the loose pin problem, which I was concerned about having heard so many complaints of it. Happy cooking!

  • Eight hundred watts of power and planetary mixing action ensure efficient mixing and beating. Not only can this heavy duty stand mixer knead even the toughest whole grain bread dough into submission, it also has a sufficient range of settings, allowing it to tenderly beat a meringue. Locking pop up heads make clean up snap. A special stirring speed helps prevent flour pouf, and liquid splatter during the initial mixing stage. Max speed is engineered for whipping custards, cream, and meringues - in other words when you want to incorporate maximum air. There are numerous attachments available for this unit to increase its multi-tasking capabilities. If you've become a fan of Viking's reliability, quality and style, no doubt this stand mixer would be a most welcome addition to your kitchen.

  • Viking Range Stainless/Gray Stand Mixer 5 Qt. Reviews By Customers
  • In my serach for a mixer that would make homemade marshmallows, I narrowed it down between the Viking and the Kitchen Aid. The Viking mixer was fairly new at the time but the reviews were great. The long standing Kitchen reviews had gone from good to terrible. From what I read, Kitchen Aid replaced some of its metal machine/motor parts with plastic parts and the mixers were breaking inside. For the same price the Viking is built better and is industrial strength. I can make multiple batches of marshmallows back-to-back without any strain on my Viking mixer's motor. It actually makes the marshmallows in half the time as my mom's Kitchen Aid, which is half the time the recipe calls for. I am very pleased with my purchase and would tell all my friends and family to get a Viking if they were looking to purchase a mixer. I am even looking to purchase their brand in other kitchen appliances. As a baker, you cannot go wrong with this one!

  • 3qt Bowl and Combi-Whip is ideal for whipping small batches of cream or egg whites.

  • KitchenAid 3qt Bowl and Combi Whip Reviews By Customers
  • THIS IS PRETTY SIMPLE AND STRAIGHT FORWARD. ITS A SMALLER MIXING BOWL FOR ADDED EASE IN USING YOUR KITCHENAID MIXER. WE JUST RECENTLY BOUGHT THE PRO 600 AND WHILE THE 6 QUART BOWL IS FABULOUS, AND TRULY WITH THE WHISK TO BOWL CLEARANCE OF MINE AT LEAST YOU COULD BEAT EGGS AND SMALL RECIPES, SO THE 3 QUART BOWL WAS MORE OF A WANT THAN A NEED. THE 6 QUART BOWL ISN'T HEAVEY, SO YOU COULD DO FINE WITH IT. FOR ME I SAW THE ADDED CONVINENCE OF SIMPLY HAVING A SECOND BOWL AND IT SEEMED TO MAKE SENSE THAT IT BE A SMALLER SIZE OTHER THAN HAVING TWO 6 QUARTS. IT WAS MY PREFERENCE.

Great additional tool - Petit Oiseau - Central California
This is a perfect size for small batches when the 6 qt bowl is just too big. I would only wish that there were beater blades and dough hooks for this smaller size bowl used with the KA Pro600--perhaps there are and I just haven't found them yet? You really increase the usability of your larger mixer with this smaller bowl.

JUST WHAT I NEEDED - Sanibean - USA
I've always wanted a second bowl for my 5qt Pro, but seemed a waste to get another large bowl. This 3qt is the perfect size for small batches and whipping cream and egg whites. Kitchenaid could not have thought up a better addition to their stand mixers.

Also I want to add, I ordered this on Dec. 23rd and I don't know if seller thought it was a Christmas present or what (it was a present to me) but received on the afternoon of Dec. 24th. Excellent service.

  • Sunbeam Mixmaster Stand Mixer features a powerful 350 watt motor with 12 variable speeds for unsurpassed mixing versatility. Soft start technology starts the motor slowly to prevent splatter. The ergonomically designed soft grip handle provides both maximum comfort and control. Off-center mixing allows you to add ingredients while you mix and requires less scraping saving you time. This mixer features 2 glass bowls, chrome beaters, whisks and dough hooks.

  • Sunbeam 2371 Mixmaster Stand Mixer, White Reviews By Customers
  • I purchased this Sunbeam mixer several months ago from Amazon.com because I couldn't find this model in any stores. It had all the features I wanted, plus I was looking for glass bowls and they are hard to find (I wanted to be able to use them in the microwave to melt butter for some recipes plus I like being able to see through the bowls--I don't understand the attraction of the metal bowls). The mixer arrived quickly and in great shape. I use this mixer at least 2 or 3 times a week and I've had no problems. My previous Sunbeam mixer was well over 20 years old when it finally died after years of hard use (I used to be a stay at home mom and cooked a lot more at home) and several moves. Fortunately, my old bowls to that mixer, though not as tall, fit this new mixer, so I have backup bowls when I need them, so that was a plus. I especially like the slow start feature on this new mixer as it cuts down on splatters. For my needs, I just can't imagine a better mixer. My old Sunbeam mixer didn't have the dough hooks or the wire whisks, and I like the whisks very much for beating whipped cream--seems like it whips up almost instantly. I have used the dough hooks only once and then went back to my old fashioned method because I just like kneading bread, but they worked fine. I would recommend this mixer to anyone who is a normal (not industrial) cook.

Pretty Neat Mixer - Charlene F. Morvay - Union City, PA
I bought this Sunbeam mainly because I needed a second heavy-duty mixer (my first is a Kitchen Aide) for my second home. Didn't want to put out a ton of money, so I thought I'd give this one a try. It is really a neat mixer for the money, mixing my favorite fluffy white frosting mix perfectly. The only negative thing I have to say is about the mixing bowls. They are GREAT quality, but too heavy (1/4" glass bowls). I'm a bit older and they are hard to handle, but this has nothing to do with the quality of the mixer. Long story short, it's a GREAT buy for the money, and will stand up to any mixing task.

don't believe bad reviews - Steve chung - Brookfield, Wisconsin
If you can't get the kitchen aid standmixer, this is probably the best choice. It's cheap, strong, and dependable. I've used it to cook thick bread dough, naan, cookies, pizzas, you name it. Anything I throw at it comes out very well.

  • I ordered this mixer two months ago, and have been very happy with it. It has a large bowl, and the motor is powerful but not too noisy. Before I ordered this, I researched every mixer out there with at 4-6 quart bowl, and this was the best one for the money, hands down.

Didn't like at all - returned it. - Gwendolyn - South Florida
I was so excited to find this mixer at such a good price, but when I tried it out, I hated it. It is NOT quiet - it sounded like a jet plane was taking off in my kitchen. And as the beater would circle the bowl, the head of the mixer would tilt slightly off the base as if it had not been properly assembled. I put it right back in the box and returned it.

I've played with the 4 quart and never had a problem, but the first 5 quart I got was dead on arrival. Wouldn't even start up. After an exchange, we got a unit that made a weird noise on the first 2 speeds which, and it wobbles horribly when set to a high speed using the dough hook.

Over the years I have gotten attachments as gifts and for myself and they all work great too! I had a friend help me with a lunch the other day and we were mixing a large amount of Chicken Salad in it and she was very impressed with the mixer and the amazing price I got it for , .00 ( I know!), 4 years ago. So I will be watching the sales for her. Once again, great product, great price.

I was a bit hesitant on buying a refurbished item like a mixer but this thing has been a work- horse! My wife does a majority of the cooking in our household but has probably used this 2 to 3 times a week ever since we purchased it (a year or more ago?) and it's definately industrial grade! We opted for the larger motor and bigger bowl and it's something that I'd recommend everyone do. We have had absolutely no problems with it (knock on wood) and it continues to mix and mix and mix... Everything from bread, to cakes, to cookies to you name it! This model of mixer is fantastic!

  • Factory-Reconditioned KitchenAid RRK150WW Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, White on White Reviews By Customers
  • I chose the reconditioned model due to the significant price savings, and am very happy with my choice. Although the box and manual clearly indicate that the product is reconditioned, and it doesn't come with the pour shield for the bowl, the mixer itself was in perfect condition, and there we just a few very minor scratches inside the bowl. Those scratches are the sort of thing you might get in your first use of the bowl. This mixer is strong, and doesn't seem noisy to me at all. It's certainly MUCH quieter than our hand mixer. Some higher end KitchenAid mixers have a bowl-lift feature, but I actually prefer to be able to tip the whole head backward and out of the way to get the bowl out. So far, we've made banana bread and a few batches of mashed potatoes using this mixer, and are very pleased with the results.

kitchenaid artisan stan mixer - S. Dominick - Southeast USA
As a retired home economist and having used many mixers, I can honestly say this is a joy to use. I haven't made cakes in a long time because it just seemed too laborious and I don't care for those in a box. This takes all of the labor out and is no more trouble than a box mix. But, the results are very rewarding and remind me of those I enjoyed as a child. I have also made whole wheat noodles and nothing could be easier or less expensive. Great product!!

Just bought another - A. Winokur - orange county, ca
These things are invaluable. I love them and their versatility. These stand mixers have a good amount of power - i regularly use it for pizza dough and pasta dough and i use the pasta attachment as well as the ravioli attachment. I use the ice cream maker attachment also - I have gotten the motor struggling before, but it was not easy. I would say the unit is bullet proof, but it did start sounding a little rickety after a few months use. still though, love them so much that 2 years after purchase, it is still running and i am just prepping for its eventual death by buying the new one.

  • I received this mixer last Christmas after begging my mother for a mixer. She eventually bought this mixer at a store as a present. When I got it, I was excited to find out what kind of mixer it was, so I came to Amazon and hardly found any good reviews. Needless to say I was worried that my mother wasted her money. Anyway, I read the instruction book thoroughly, and I have been using it very frequently since. It works perfectly, and the bowl is a gem. The only problem is that the bowl is a bit heavy, so I hardly use it. Also, the mixer really cannot handle large amounts of dough as it gets caught between the two whisks. Everything else that persons were complaining about such as burning out the motor because they were trying to mix chocolate chips into a batter is all in the instructions manual. It's a great mixer for the low price, if you read the instructions.

It's just a hand mixer really. - R. Hille - Stockton, IL USA
I just received this as a gift. I make cakes for people all the time and thought having a second one would cut down on dish washing in between orders. It will not work for me. The beaters don't do all the way to the bottom, and that is what makes the bowl spin. I also have a sunbeam stand mixer and that one works great! This one will be going back to the store and be replaced with something else for sure. I don't want a had mixer that takes up so much space, because that's all I would be able to use it for. The bowl is also 10% smaller then my other stand mixer's bowl. I'm sure this is one of those cases where you get what you paid for......the thought was there, I'm happy my relative tried to help me out as far as my cake business goes, but I wish we could have checked it out of the box before making the purchase.

Good Condition - Maria D. Gutierrez - Arizona
This item came in good condition and so far has put up with everything that's been thrown at it. For a cheap mixer, it's pretty damn suitable (if you're doing simple things, of course).

  • I've had my mixer for 10 years. My husband calls it my cement mixer. It is heavy. I don't keep it on my counter because it takes up too much space, so I move it every time I need it from cupboard to counter. I don't mind because this mixer is consistent in the way it beats! I only make cakes, icings and cookies, but it performs beautifully today as the day I received it. I've never had any problems. What makes this mixer even better are the additional attachments. On days when I ran out of ground beef or ground pork, I didn't have to make a trip to the grocery store. I only had to reach into my freezer and pull out some sirloin or pork shoulder butt and then grab my meat grinder and within in no time, I had ground meat! Same for the pasta attachments. When I ran out of spaghetti, I only had to pull out the mixer, make some pasta dough and push it through the spaghetti attachment. This mixer is versatile and will not let you down. I love my mixer!

buyer beware - Slumming Angel - Little Beirut, OR
I have had two empire red Artisan mixers in the past five years. They are gorgeous BUT both have suffered from the same three serious problems: 1. the slow speed burned out in the first month on machine number 2 when I kneaded soft brioche dough and now the mixer has only two speeds: fast and faster. 2. the mixing bowl sticks to the metal plate so that dislodging it requires a healthy husband or a liberal amount of WD40 or both. 3. the pin holding the armature to the base slides out when the machine gyrates, which it does something fierce when kneading for more than three minutes. This is one of the worst engineered products I have ever owned, and Kitchen Aid's service is not helpful. I'm going to buy a Breville next and abandon KA for good.

Beware: Product Quality Issues AND KitchenAid Does NOT Honor their Warranties!!! - Shira Dot Net - Iowa City, Iowa
Beware - KitchenAid does not honor their warranty. If anything should go wrong with your mixer, KitchenAid will try to find any loophole they can to squirm out of replacing it. Their promise in their user manual of "hassle-free replacement" is false advertising.

On mine, the 3 slowest speeds quit working. I contacted KitchenAid, and they refused to honor my warranty on the grounds that I bought the mixer from an Amazon Marketplace vendor. The vendor also tried contacting KitchenAid on my behalf, and that didn't help either - KitchenAid claimed the MarketPlace vendor was not an authorized KitchenAid reseller and refused to honor the warranty even though I had purchased a brand-new product and it went bad before the warranty year was up.

Your odds of having something go wrong in the first year are not in your favor - not only did I have this problem with my mixer, but before this issue arose for me I had purchased a second one for my sister-in-law, and hers too arrived with a factory defect. She reported her problem 2 weeks ago and although in her case KitchenAid promised to send her a replacement immediately, she has still not received it.

I will be pursuing legal action on the fact that KitchenAid is refusing to honor their warranty on my mixer. So beware - I have had poor results with product quality on two different KitchenAid mixer purchases within a few months' time. Although I understand that sometimes things can go wrong, I expect manufacturers to honor their warranties when problems arise, and KitchenAid does not.
