  • Hamilton Beach Drink Mixer - 750BC Reviews By Customers
  • ...and now, so do I. It's fun for making milkshakes quickly and does blend quite evenly if you manually do the up n' down with the drink cup. Very easy to clean up after use.

For as frequently as I use it, it's mostly a nice-looking decoration, so I can't personally testify to its effectiveness as a daily-use appliance. But I do like it for its nostalgic appearance and has, thus far, worked like a dream when I wanted it to over the course of two years.

Poor mixer - Chef Tell - Washington DC
Very disappointed with this Hamilton Beach "mixer". It does not have the power or blade to mix ice cream shakes as advertised. A spoon does a better job.

  • KitchenAid's Artisan stand mixer is a substantial piece of equipment: 325 watts of mixing power make child's play of creaming butter, kneading dough, and whipping cream. The kid in you will appreciate how quick and easy it is to mix up a batch of cookie dough. This model comes with three attachments: a flat beater for making batter, meat loaf, and all textures in-between; a wire whip for egg whites, mayonnaise, and more air-infused creations; and a hook for mixing and kneading yeast doughs. All three are solidly constructed and easily secured to the beater shaft with a simple twist. This model also includes a pouring shield for guiding ingredients to their proper destination, and the bowl itself locks tight to the base. Standing about 15 inches high, jutting out a foot, and weighing more than a grown woman's bowling ball, this stand mixer isn't the sort of appliance you'll wipe down and put away. Better to find a square foot of free counter space for easy access; besides, this machine is as pretty as it is rugged--you'll want to show it off. --Betsy Danheim

    From the Manufacturer

The Artisan mixer's strong 325-watt motor delivers the power to handle the heaviest mixtures, and mix large batches easily.

The 5-quart polished stainless steel bowl with ergonomic handle is big enough to handle large batches of heavy mixtures. Its ergonomically designed handle is contoured to fit the hand and makes lifting the bowl more comfortable.

    Unique Mixing Action

The beater spins clockwise as the shaft spins counter clockwise; moving the beater to 67 different points around the bowl. This unique mixing action creates a thorough blend of ingredients and eliminates the need to rotate the bowl.

    Multiple Speeds

10 speeds allow the user to select the right speed for the mixing job; from very high to very slow stir. It's easy to select the precise speed needed for a perfect mix.

    Versatile Accessories

The flat beater, dough hook, and the professional wire whip add to the versatility of the mixer. The flat beater is the ideal accessory for mixing normal to heavy batters. From cake mixes to firm cookie dough, the flat beater mixes quickly and thoroughly.

The dough hook mixes and kneads yeast dough, saving both time and the effort of hand-kneading. The wire whip incorporates the maximum amount of air in whipped mixtures for fluffier whipped cream and angel food cakes.

All attachments are solidly constructed, and attach easily to the stand mixer.

    Easy Clean Up

The pouring shield fits around the top of the bowl and prevents ingredient splash-out. The chute makes it convenient and easy to add ingredients.

The tilt-back mixer head allows for easy access to bowl and beaters. A lock lever holds the mixer head securely in place and the bowl fastens tightly to the base.

    Optional Attachments

Optional attachments (sold separately) complete the package to make cooking a pleasure. From citrus juicer to sausage stuffer, KitchenAid stand mixers can handle just about any job in the kitchen.

  • KitchenAid KSM152PSNK Custom Metallic Series 5-Quart Mixer, Brushed Nickel Reviews By Customers
  • Only a true Kitchen Aid mixer fan would buy so many of these. I started out over twenty years ago with a cream one, traded, then got the 5 qt industrial gray and gave it to my sister, then a black 5 qt which my husband gave to a friend because he felt we didn't need two, and my favorite, this one. I also gave a cobalt blue 5 qt to my brother in law although he rarely cooks and often works in Belgium and Japan; and a bright red one for another friend. I sold commercial restaurant equipment for 17 years and their products were essential to our business so I write from more than personal experience.

For my home with cherry cupboards the rich copper mixer earns a place on my counter. This is a hard working and beautiful companion in the kitchen especially if you can't afford the space or price of its larger model. I will be getting the new sweep batter paddle for it next since I already have grinders, juicers and every other attachment.

Just remember these are very heavy and should go on the counter rather than on a shelf or in the garage. Use the paddle for mixing heavy batters and the dough hook for bread. Don't get stuck using just the wire whisk for everything. I keep all the paddles in the bowl.

KitchenAid Mixer Best in the World - Glen A. Ritter - Shreveport, LA
Recently reviewed the purchase of this mixer in white that I bought for my daughter. I purchased this one for my wife, it is our second one. The first I bought for her 29 years ago. I bought it in white back then. The first one has been used regularly because my wife is a very good cook. We kept waiting for the old one to die, well with KitchenAid, that never happens. So after 32 years of marriage I bought her the Brushed Nickel KSM152PSNK. If you do not have a KitchenAid mixer and you like to cook, you need one. Spend the money and buy one. I know we will get at least 32 years of service from our new one.

  • This turned me into a cook - Kristi G., mom of Sage - Rome, GA
This mixer literally changed my life. I am now a cook.

Before I got my mixer- I won mine in a contest - I was making cakes from box mixes with my hand mixer, and I was buying my pie shells in the freezer section of the grocery store.

Now I feel like there's very little I can't do. Favorites are pizza dough, pound cake, pastry crusts (for quiche and pot pies and Jamaican beef patties...)and every day bread.

I watched all the cooking shows for years, but it just never clicked that they were all using stand mixers because they KNEW something. Oh yeah they do!

When I first got mine, I was afraid of the loss of counter space. Ha! I use it as much as I do my stove and it can have as much counter space as it needs! It comes with a very handy recipe book with all sorts of basic items. It's a keeper.

The KitchenAid website also has a lot of recipes and forums. If I'd known a long time ago, what I know now, I'd have saved pennies if I had to for one of these. They are definitely worth the investment. It is so nice to cook a pie without worrying if I have a pie shell. Now GREAT pastry is just a few minutes away.

  • For round-the-clock baking needs, the Hamilton Beach Commercial stand mixer delivers power, control, and safety features all wrapped into one stout machine. With its 800-watt motor—compared to 325 watts for standard home models—the mixer is capable of maintaining set speeds regardless of dough stiffness or ingredient quantity. The all-metal gearing system is highly durable and adjusts both speed and torque for all attachments. In spite of its power, the mixer is capable of delicacy on low settings and vibrates minimally in action.

Hamilton Beach constructs the mixer with a rugged die-cast aluminum body for years of heavy-duty use. The head tilts up for easy access to ingredients and attachments, and automatically stops operation in the raised position. A rotary dial controls speed, while separate on and off switches control power—the on button is safely recessed to prevent accidental activation. The unit measures 15-1/2 inches wide by 9-3/8 inches deep by 13-7/8 inches high and carries a two-year warranty on parts and labor. --Emily Bedard

  • Hamilton Beach CPM700 Commercial Stand Mixer, Silver Reviews By Customers
  • WOW! This is a real work horse of a machine. I picked mine up on eBay a few months ago and I couldn't be happier. With 800 watts of power you don't have to worry about thawing butter or handling the thickest of doughs. It includes three attachments heads (wire whisk, dough hook and beater) and they are very sturdy. The steel mixing bowl is sturdy and cleans easily. Controls are simply and it has a great safety cutoff to prevent the machine from operating when the head is tilted back.

  • Purchased this mixer to replace an older one at my workplace. Seems to be every bit as good as the one it replaced, but really the true test comes in time after years of abuse in a professional kitchen. Initial quality is on par with other KitchenAid mixers.

Second commercial kitchenaid - Ruth K. Raich - Red Wing, MN
I am disappointed in the quality of this mixer. This is my second commercial kitchen aid mixer. The first lasted many years and was used in a commercial setting(bakery/restaurant). The bowls are now not interchangeable with the new mixer so I now have three obsolete bowls. And, the motor is very loud. I am forced to purchase this mixer because there are not any others out there with this size. I'm sure to keep the cost down corners have had to be cut. It's one of the sad results of consummerism and overseas production.

  • Sunbeam Standmixer with Burst Reviews By Customers
  • I've had my Sunbeam Mixmaster Standmixer w/Burst for at least 4 years now, used it dozens of times, and have never had any problems (better production year maybe?). It has all the fancy attachments...but I've never used them. Probably because I forgot I have them! Mixers only came with one set of beaters when I was growing up and you mixed/beat/whipped EVERYTHING with that ONE set. That's what I still do. In fact, tonight I made chocolate chip cookie dough using the standard beaters...they came out PERFECT! Some of you may have a problem with it tipping over after you remove the bowl because the mixer head IS a bit heavy for the stand (after all, it is only hollow plastic). But if you drop the head back down after using (and for storing) you should be all right. I'm getting ready to buy one of these mixers for my mother-in-law because she really liked mine. Hope she has the same good luck!

Should be zero Stars - Suzanne Verrier - Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada
This mixer blew on me in less than two weeks. It was the 4th time using, it quit on me. Wasn't laboring, or having trouble, I had just started a batch of cookies and it just shut itself off and never turned back on. Worse yet, Sunbeam refused to do anything about it. It had been bought two years prior but never taken out of the box or wrapping. Totally useless, I will never buy anything Sunbeam again.

    Awesome!! - Karen - Ohio
I bought mine about 6 years ago and it has not caused me any trouble. I never want to use another mixer. It powers through my toughest/largest batters. The burst of speed is incredible. This mixer has never failed me. These newer versions must not have been manufactured as well.

We also bought the Sunbeam Mixmaster based on previous experience. It is unfortunate that the new products have sacrificed quality for cost. The drive gears for the beaters are now plastic and do not hold up to moderate load (Marshmallow Creme frosting??!??). I found that it stripped the teeth right off the head of the beater drive sleeve when I investigated. Of course I cannot find the parts to repair.

The wife and I are now going to go for quality instead of this low-cost alternative.

Don't knead bread dough with this mixer - bread montana -
This review is for a Sunbeam 2350 mixer. I used this mixer to knead bread dough, and it failed in less than five minutes. The gears are stripped, and the mixer no longer works for anything. This happened with a single loaf recipe and normal dough consistency, which leaves me wondering why the manufacturer included dough hooks with the mixer. In my opinion, for what this mixer does (or did, when it was working), a hand held mixer would be easier to use, and would take one-fourth the storage room.

Sunbeam is not so sunny! - a reader from - Denton TX
In many years of cooking and baking I'd never owned a stand mixer until last year when I asked for one for Christmas. My husband, the giver, wanted to get the Kitchen Aid but I suggested the less expensive Sunbeam, which I'd heard good things about. At first I thought my problems with it were caused by my inexperience with the stand mixer since I'd used a handmixer so long. But, no, it's the mixer. One aggravation is that ingredients don't get mixed in thoroughly without constantly stopping and mixing by hand. But the mixer's worst fault--and the reason I know it's a dud--is that at times the bowl just stops turning or the mixer itself stops. I have to turn the speed dial back and forth to make it start again and/or I have to spin the bowl by hand. Also, the tilt release button is in an awkward place and requires a serious push to make work. And once the beaters, though firmly seated, simply disengaged and fell into the bowl. Recently, I made meringue for pies with this mixer. It took twice as long as with a handmixer and the meringue was syrupy and did not have the volume I'm used to with a handmixer. And forget mixing bread with it. That was a complete disaster. I finished mixing and kneading the bread by hand.

I thought having a stand mixer would be so great, more efficient, convenient, freeing. But frankly, I hate this thing! I'm beyond disappointed. The shoddiness of this appliance, which was not cheap, is shameful. And from what I've read here, today's Kitchen Aids, though very expensive, may not be much better. Whatever happened to quality products?

The kid in you will appreciate how quick and easy it is to mix up a batch of cookie dough; the 4-1/2-quart bowl can hold up to 8 cups of flour, which translates into as many as 192 sweet treats.

  • I have practically everything that KitchenAid makes. They are, without a doubt, the most beautiful kitchen appliances you can ever own. I leave them on the counter so they'll be easy to get to, and also because they look so darned good! (Mine are Empire Red.) They are so well made and durable. I will never have to buy another mixer, toaster, blender or food processor again! Did I mention EASY to use? And the mixer is so versatile with all the attachments. You can grate cheese, stuff sausage, make pasta, or knead dough - all with one machine! I highly recommend anything these folks make.

I always wanted to check one of this things out, but found that the price was a bit steep thats until I got an Amazon Gold Box offer and I decided to take the plunge.

As soon as I got the mixer I took it out, hand washed the bowls and the attachments (everything is dishwasher safe, except the whip attachment) and I was ready to go.

So far, after 5 loaf of bread, 12 pizzas, and dozens of cookies Im still looking for more stuff to do.

The set includes a handy booklet that has some great recipes.

Go ahead try it, you will not regret it!

  • Excellent quality! This is the second one I have purchased. I have had mine for quite a few years now and my daughter-in-law expressed an interest, after using mine, that she liked it so much she wished she had one. I purchased this one for her for Christmas! It is very stylish and comfortable to pour from. Great size...Can hold plenty of water! Comes in great colors...I personally LOVE the black. Worth every penny!!

I was pleased with the hinge , but really upset it cost over eleven dollars for shipping. I will not purchase the remaining number of hinges I need.

The color is a little darker than I expected -- more a cherry red than a fire engine red. The whistle is nice and loud, which is good for me, since I have been known to forget that I have it on! Would definitely recommend.

  • Hamilton Beach Eclectrics Stand Mixer - Sugar (63221) Reviews By Customers
  • Hi,

After searching in internet, reading numerous reviews, and checking with Consumer Reports and BBB, I changed my mind getting KitchenAid and switched to Hamilton Beach Stand Mixer. I have it now, I purchased it in a store. It has great features for 4.5 qt: 400 watt, 12 speeds, all metal made, and 3 year warranty!!! comparing 1 year in KitchenAid with 10 speeds and 250 watt for 4.5 qt.
I am very pleased with Hamilton's QUIET performance even at the higher speed. It's in fact quieter than my hand mixer and has a friendly sound. I didn't scrape any single time when making the 3.5 c dough.

It's slightly bigger than KitchenAid, about 1 inch higher, but it's somehow lighter and easy to move on counter. Easy to use, the head tilts back by pressing back button smoothly. The bowl sits reliably.

I am endlessly happy that I got Hamilton instead of KitchenAid.

This is the best stand mixer so far!!! Even if it more expensive than KitchenAid, I would still get Hamilton Beach.

Surprisingly Happy - JR - NY
I bought this mixer as the floor model from Sam's Club, at a great price. It was missing the pouring shield, and the instruction book. I've been very pleased with it's performance, and don't feel at all like I sold out my dream of a Kitchenaid 5 plus 5. I'm most impressed with their customer service. I called and told them about the missing items, and they told me where to get the intruction manual online, and immediately shipped me the splatter guard (which I already had) and pouring shield, no questions asked. I've never had Kitchenaid service like that. I'm very impressed.

  • Factory-Reconditioned KitchenAid RKG25H0XER Professional HD 5-Quart Stand Mixer, Empire Red Reviews By Customers
  • My silver Professional HD KitchenAid Mixer has delivered years of service to me so far. I frequently use it to bake artisan french bread, and I would recommend it to anyone with a couple of caveats. First, it is possible for the stationary head of this mixer to loosen if you are mixing heavy bread dough or a full load of sausage. This mixer does have the power to mix a 6 cup bread recipe, but sometimes it will start to overheat, and it will shut itself off.

As I mentioned, the head can also loosen if you are mixing a large amount of tough materials, such as ground sausage. I eventually fixed this head loosening problem by taking the mixer apart, and replacing the philips cross head screws with allen head hex screws and lock washers and bolting it town more securely.

I have also performed lash adjustments on the motor positioning after a year of use to make the motor less grindy sounding. This worked well, and I found that this mixer does have a strong metal gear set in it to which I applied fresh lithium grease.

I'm not giving this mixer a 5 star review because it isn't a Hobart mixer, but for the price this mixer is awesome, strong, and repairable. There are no weak parts inside it, so it is possible to adjust and repair this mixer. The strength of this mixer is in its construction, and as I said, I was able to repair it myself when it needed help. This is a telling quality. None of the parts have ever broken, and the over heating protection has prevented the mixer from destroying itself when I've set it on a task too difficult.

The issues with the head and gear set that I've mentioned are not detractors in my opinion, because I drive my mixer beyond normal use patterns, and I wouldn't expect a mixer which is less than 0.00 to perform in the role of an industrial strength product. I am very pleased that this mixer can perform at that level, even if it does need minor tweaking at times.

I do have the sausage making attachment, and I'm very pleased with it. It paid for itself the first time out of the box when I made 40lb's of sausage in an afternoon using chicken, beef, and pork.

Best gift ever - L. Messerly - Enterprise, UT USA
I gave this mixer to my daughter for her birthday. She is a young mother of two attending college; so as you can imagine she is very busy. She told me this is the best gift she has ever received. She is a very good cook and loves to make meals for her family. This mixer has cut her meal preparation time way down. She can now dedicate more of her precious time to her family instead of the kitchen. She really likes this mixer.

What's on the inside - I just did a complete rebuild - JG - FL, USA
Hello everyone. I purchased this mixer just a few years ago, and I just had to do a COMPLETE tear down and rebuild. Yes, it has all metal gears and metal bearings inside. Unfortunately, it also had (repeat HAD) a plastic housing holding all of that metal gearing in place. Yikes. Bad. When I got a little aggressive with the grinder attachment, the 475 watt motor was strong enough to destroy three steel gears and the plastic gear housing that once held it all in place. Fortunately, the mixer is VERY easy to dissasemble and repair, although it took me four evenings of work to assess the damage, clean, and reassemble. I have replaced ALL the gears and bearings with newer versions that you can find online. All the parts I ordered were very reasonably priced ( - ), labelled made in the USA, genuine Whirlpool, and many appear to be upgraded, ESPECIALLY the all metal gear housing complete with cooling fins. Awesome. Total price to replace all of the gears and bearings, including the whole planetary assembly was 0.00. That's much less than a new one, and I have all the latest improved parts. This time I know it is done right. I was VERY disappointed to find upon dissasembly that NO grease had been placed in the top bearing. It was running dry since the day it was new, and it was scored. Due to poor lubrication, all the other bearings had worn, and the gears were meshing loosely. The orbital planetary assembly also had no grease in its sleeve where the beater attaches, and the sleeve bearing and was worn. A lot of the grease in the plastic gear housing was hardened and not doing its job any more. Dissasembly was very disappointing. I say SHAME on KitchenAid for advertising it as all metal gearing and then not lubricating those bearings and then using a plastic housing to hold it all in place. The new parts and the overhauled mixer are very pleasing. I now own the best. Tips: Parts and diagrams are available online. Shop for low parts prices, which vary by 500%. You will need a special pin-spanning tool two remove two very strong "c" clips and I recommend a square-point drive screwdriver. Special grease that is USDA approved "H-1" for food preparation use is available online or locally. I bought Super Lube brand at my local hardware store for a few bucks. Be sure to remove ALL of the old grease. ALL of it. Lubricate every bearing twice during assembly to make sure it has grease completely coating the inside of the bearing. If you buy a new planetary assembly, (why not do it all at once so you never have to do it again) take the "c" clip off and grease the beater drive shaft. The bottom bearing for the main shaft is pressed into the mixer housing, but it can be pulled out gently with a large pair of pliers. The new bottom bearing should be very gently tapped into place with a hammer - I padded my hammer with about 10 layers of paper tape to protect the bearing - go slowly and gently. It went right in. The motor still is very loud, with a high pitched whine, but it always has been that way and it is 475 watts, so I expect some noise. Do yourself a favor - do a little research, find the new parts, get the "c" clip tool, and rebuild yours with all the new parts. Then and only then can I recommend this mixer.

More Than Just a Pretty Face - B. Smith - Houston, TX, USA
I am very happy with my Empire Red HD 5-Quart KitchenAid Mixer. It is one of the only a couple of appliances that my wife allows to be on the counter all the time. I have made cheesecake and sticky buns. It has worked flawlessly. Many people have remarked that the handle that lifts the bowl is inconvenient, but I have not had much trouble adding ingredients whether the bowl is up or bringing the bowl down.

  • KitchenAid KN2WJ Water-Jacket Bowl for 5- and 6-Quart Lift-Model Stand Mixers Reviews By Customers
  • See my comment to "Y. Hughes", above. The jacket works as advertised. The comments all seem to relate to the method of attaching it. It's not flimsy and if one of the tabs become bent for some reason just pull it back into position with a pair of plyers.

Works OK - Mark Barton - Pasadena, CA United States
If you need this, you need it. It's good for lamingtons (an Australian classic) where you need a warm bath for the eggs if you're making Genoise cake from scratch and then a hot bath for the icing to keep it runny while you dip. Note that it's specific to 6 quart, bowl-lift mixers. It's very big but it needs to be for a 6 quart bowl.

The weak point is the tabs by which it hooks to the arms of the bowl-lift mechanism so that it goes up and down with the bowl. They're not exactly flimsy but they're very exposed and angular which means it's easy to damage yourself when washing/drying the bowl, and damage the tabs with a drop or heavy knock. In fact the KitchenAid packaging was grossly inadequate - just a cardboard box with no foam - so that the tabs were bent when the bowl arrived and had to be carefully straightened.

  • Hamilton Beach 63220 Eclectrics All-Metal 12-Speed Stand Mixer, Sterling Reviews By Customers
  • A new addition to our kitchen, we are VERY impressed with the performance of this mixer. It's extremely quiet, and the very large motor has plenty of power for just about anything. For years, KitchenAid was the only choice in the large mixer market, but since they started making all of them overseas, quality just isn't there, anymore. In fact, we started out with a KitchenAid, and decided to return it to the store where purchased.

The Hamilton Beach 63220 Mixer will not let you down. It is a breeze to operate. It is quite heavy duty, being about the same size as most of the smaller model KitchenAid models. Plan accordingly for storage.

This model has remained essentially unchanged for a few years now. My unit was manufactured in Canada. I feel more confident about quality than I ever would from the current KitchenAid models.

Satisfied thus far..but.. - Lady zenomi - Trinidad and Tobago
I purchased this machine cause at the time I could not afford a Kitchen Aid. This machine is ideal for mixing frosting made with vegetable shortening as this can become stiff and put strain on your regular mixer motor (I can testify I lost two hand mixers). The other attachments has proven to be useful as well, I used the dough hook to make fondant and was satisfied with the results. I appreciate the fact the mixer is quiet and I mean quiet it does not disturb anyone while I work, clean up is easy as well. The thing that dissapointed me with this product is that it does not have any further attachments,eg. pasta machine etc. But overall I would recommend this product.

OH MY GOSH...TALK ABOUT A GREAT MIXER. I BAKE ON A REGULAR BASIS FOR MY HUSBAND AND MY GRANDSON... BOY THIS MIXER DOES IT ALL. LOVE THE POWER. Mixer head wobbles - S. Domer - Baldwin, KS
I bake bread every week. The mixer head wobbles back and forth while kneading the dough. Also, the flange on the dough hook is not wide enough to prevent dough from climbing over it and upward to the mixer body.

I bought this mixer because arthritis makes it difficult for me to move heavy objects. Otherwise I would have bought a Kitchen Aid.
